Sunday hike: Abram Falls
We decided to go for a family hike on Sunday. 2.5 miles in and 2.5 miles out...Collin was a trooper and by the end of it he was "all out of walks."
We did get to see a lot of wildlife but the most amazing was the bear pictured. This is from our car window and no zoom. I am serious. It was RIGHT there. Anyway, we had a blast!

Meet our Nanny!
Hi Folks,
Meet Elizabeth. She is like family to us! Here she is taking pics with the kids; having a great time and that is what we love most about her! She really enjoys the kids and they adore her.
Notice Collin's "rock star" do'. Hey Buster, the newest song that you guys will perform is called "Do you Wanna Rock and Role?!". (I say "role" b/c this is how it is pronounced according to Collin. He says you have plenty of time to rehearse as you won't be performing it until Harper and Eliese grow up.
P.S. Happy Anniversary to Aunt Amanda and Uncle Buster!

Good Morning, Son
No pictures today, guys, b/c no physical image can compare to the mental picture I still have running over and over in my head from this morning.
Today was the first day of Collin's first "real week" at Knoxville Montessori School. The kids are to be walked to the door by the teacher so goodbyes are done outside the school and the kids have less trouble with this. "The kids????"
The mental image: Collin looking over his left shoulder, trying to keep his lunch bag on that tiny little shoulder, holding Mrs. Jurisson's hand with his right. "Bye, Mom!" and there he went. Piece of cake for him.
Loaded back in the car, "I am okay, I am okay..."
And then, Ben Folds had to sing the following:
"Good Morning, Son.
Twenty years from now,
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers,
And I can tell,
You 'bout today,
And how I picked you up and everything changed.
It was pain,
Sunny Days and rain.
I knew you'd feel the same things.
Everybody knows it sucks to grow up.
And everybody does.
So wierd to be back here.
Let me tell you what.
The years go on and we're still fighting it,
We're still fighting it,
You'll try,
And try,
And one day,
You'll fly...
Away from me."
Aneliese and I cried all the way home to Canterbury Drive.

My Big Brother is the funniest!
As I was working away in my office this afternoon, I heard Aneliese laughing hysterically. I grabbed the camera to catch it and this is what I found...

Family Day in the Smokies...
We had a blast yesterday doing a bit of venturing through the Smoky Mountains, swimming in the river, cliff jumping (Ryan, not me or kids) some back to school shopping (okay, so that wasn't exactly fun)and eating sugar packed ice cream cones. Aneliese even had her first tiny taste of ice cream! Thought we would share the fun.

The Christening Pics
Collin and Aneliese were recently christened at the St. Luke United Methodist Church in Walhalla where I grew up. Aneliese wore the Calhoun Family Christening gown and since Collin was not christened as a baby, we decided to have them both christened at the same time. I had the following pictures taken once we returned to Knoxville. We are so very proud of our babies!
