Collin and Uncle Robert's Hike!

Collin has not stopped talking about his trip to SC to visit with Gigi and Jean for spring break! He even made a book telling us all about his week.

I am sure Gigi has pictures from his trip to Atlanta that I will post soon as well. BUT his favorite outing must have been hiking with Uncle Robert as that is all he can talk about. Here are some pictures from the hike. They visited Isaqueena Falls, the Stumphouse Tunnel, and King Creek Falls near Burrell's Ford. What fun!

Catching up

I have fallen behind on the blog. I know. I am sorry. In an effort to catch up, I will have to pace myself. Ryan and Collin were out of town last week. Ryan for business in Boone, NC and Collin for pleasure in Walhalla, SC. I have no pics of this so far. (Hint, hint, Gigi.) Aneliese and I had some good girl time gardening and doing other girly things like buying new vintage curtains for the kids bedroom. (Collin said now I have to find some boyish vintage curtains for his side of the room.)

The weekend prior was "Big Colin" and Heather's wedding in Charleston. I will refer you here for some of those pictures.

Note to self

Don't ever ask your child what kind of cake they would like for their birthday. Please be sure to ask "What FLAVOR of cake would you like for your birthday?" You see, for Collin's 3rd birthday, his birthday theme was knights and princesses and I made the most ellaborate castle cake one can make in my opinion.



Then his 5th birthday cake was more along the lines of his cowboy idea and featured a hayride. We hired a "cake designer" for the unusual theme. Gigi purchased this one.



(Note: his 4th birthday I was crazy pregnant so I can't even seem to remember what on Earth we did...)
So along comes Collin's 6th birthday party. Ryan and I were real troopers (along with several other wonderful parents) and we took Collin and several of his friends skiing in Gatlinburg for the day. So, when I asked Collin, "What kind of cake would you like for your birthday this year?", naturally his response was "I want a ski slope cake, Mom. The hardest part will be the chair lift! I don't know how you are going to do that!"

Poor guy, this is what he got this year...Hey, it is white like snow, right?

Collin is 6!!!!

Collin had a super birthday which fell on Valentine's Party Day at school as well as Parent's night. At Knoxville Montessori, they do a fantastic "Walk around the sun" for each child on his or her birthday. Here are some pics of his walk and parent's night. Also the recycled Valentine's we made. Oh, and please make note of how awesome his rhyming story is!

Everytime AE sees a pic of herself she says...

"HARPER!"
